Countering the Mass Shooter Threat

Course Description:  In the course we review data collected from 48 mass shootings, finding similarities along the way which will lead you to a conclusion that answers the question – what can be done to counter this threat? Once you’ve learned all you can from these historical events you’ll begin to understand the importance of developing an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), and the systematic forethought that goes into mass casualty preparation. This class combines lectures and scenario-based exercises to empower individuals to participate in their own survival using proactive response plans in the face of violence. This training will address the following topics:

  • What we’ve learned about mass shootings
  • Recognize warning signs of a potential threat
  • Learn and discuss solutions to prevent an attack in your community
  • Develop an Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
  • How to respond if an active shooter is in or near your business
  • Decide whether to escape, evade or attack
  • How to safely evacuate
  • Apply critical bleeding control techniques
  • Respond quickly and confidently in an emergency
  • Responding when law enforcement arrives on the scene


  • Hands on instruction with a certified USCCA instructor with a military background
  • All equipment provided

Session Length: 5 hours

Cost: Up to 20 students $300 per session and can be brought to your business or church
